Shipping policy
- Eligible products and destinations
This policy applies to products selected for purchase through Foyer Universel’s online store. In-store sales and projects governed by a separate contract follow the arrangements disclosed for those transactions, subject to applicable law.
Eligible products and destinations, delivery method, charges and service level are stated before purchase. Free delivery applies only when expressly advertised for the relevant products, destinations and services.
- Products in stock at Foyer Universel
“In stock at Foyer Universel” refers to products available in our own stock for which handling and then delivery, or pickup, can be arranged within the stated timeframe. It does not mean immediate delivery. The applicable date or timeframe is disclosed before purchase.
- Products in stock at the supplier
Certain selected products remain available for online purchase when their stock is held by a supplier. They are identified as such before purchase. Sourcing generally takes 1 to 3 weeks, subject to FU confirmation for the order. This indicative timeframe is longer than for products available in our own stock.
FU follows up and confirms the timeframe for your order. The indicative 1-to-3-week range must be visible before purchase; handling and transit to your destination are stated separately when additional. The agreed delivery date or timeframe is disclosed before you commit and repeated in the order documents. Changes are communicated to you; a new deadline requires your written agreement.
For an order combining products with different availability, the schedule, consolidated or split shipments and their charges are disclosed before you commit.
- Delays
If a delay occurs, we will notify you and propose a solution. Any new deadline must be agreed upon and confirmed in writing. Statutory cancellation and refund rights remain applicable; supplier-held stock does not remove them.
For distance contracts covered by Quebec law, failure to deliver within 30 days following the agreed date may, in particular, create a right to cancel before delivery, under the applicable legal conditions. If neither a date nor a timeframe is specified, the period runs from contract conclusion. See our returns, refunds and cancellation policy. This does not change our obligation to meet the agreed deadline.
- Charges and included services
Delivery charges and the selected service are disclosed before purchase. No unagreed surcharge is added automatically after ordering. Promotional delivery offers apply only to the products, destinations, dates and services expressly advertised.
For a large appliance, unloading location, access, stairs, lifting requirements, appointments and service level are specified before ordering. Unpacking, special handling, removal of an old appliance and installation are included only when expressly stated.
- Pickup
When pickup is offered for your order, wait for confirmation that it is ready. Our team provides the location, hours and pickup arrangements. Bring your order reference and arrange a vehicle and handling suitable for the product. Third-party pickup conditions and the holding period are disclosed in advance.
A supplier-stock item cannot be collected from Foyer Universel before we confirm its availability. Choosing pickup does not change rights attached to a contract concluded online.
- Receipt, damage or loss
Where possible, check the delivery’s apparent condition and report any issue. Photos and a note on the delivery receipt help follow-up but are not an absolute condition for a remedy. For a missing, incorrect or damaged item, contact 514 382-8222 or infos@foyeruniversel.ca.
We will follow up with the carrier. Handing goods to the carrier does not remove our statutory obligations to consumers. The voluntary return procedure does not replace remedies due for a defect, non-conformity, loss or damage.
