Designed to disappear. The mechanics are hidden to let the fire become the true center of attention.
The glass can be partially or fully raised. Enjoy an open fire with the crackling sound of wood, or close it for a highly efficient, safe burn.
No bottom frame disrupts the view of the fire. The minimalist design allows finishing materials to be brought as close as possible to the flames.
An optional, perfectly integrated stainless steel spark screen combines elegance and safety, offering an unobstructed view when enjoying an open fire.

What framing materials are required around the glass?
The Stûv 21 is designed for absolute minimalism. You can bring non-combustible finishing materials right to the edge of the opening. Alternatively, Stûv offers specially designed finishing frames (Thin frame, SF4, SF5) to beautifully mask the finishing edges.
What is the 'Rust Finish' (Fini rouille)?
Available on select frames, the rust finish is a unique process achieved by natural oxidation of the metal in a controlled environment. The process is halted once a beautiful rusted appearance is reached, making every single piece entirely unique.
Can I operate the fireplace with the glass completely open?
Absolutely. The glass can be fully retracted upwards, transforming the Stûv 21 into an authentic open hearth. We highly recommend adding the optional guillotine spark screen for peace of mind while enjoying the open flames.
